Green Bay High School built in 1973 is at the entrance to Auckland's scenic paradise, yet only 20 minutes from the centre of Auckland city. Situated in a community with a wide range of arts, cultural and sporting facilities, the famous Titirangi international golf course is 1 km away. As we are one of Auckland's newer schools our facilities are modern with an all-purpose auditorium for drama and music, two computer rooms, library, gymnasium and photography dark rooms.

Special Character
The school's philosophy is that every student should reach their potential in a caring environment. Every individual has needs which must be catered for. We believe that learning takes place when students are happy and their working environment is a pleasant one.

Academic Programmes
We prepare students for universities and polytechnics. We offer the national examinations; in Form 5 School Certificate, Form 6 Sixth Form Certificate and Form 7 University Bursary. An English Language programme is available for those with little or no English. Students are encouraged and helped to aim at academic excellence.

Extra Curricular Activities
There are many sporting and musical activities a student can take part in after school.

Student Welfare
As a student and guidance-centred school, we place a great deal of emphasis on ensuring that students are listened to and that any problems that they have are looked into quickly. We have a large guidance network to help students in and outside of the school and the Director of Overseas Students is in constant touch with students and their homestay families.

Accommodation
Homestays are arranged by the school and all are within walking distance of the school. Accommodation is NZ$165 per week.

Student Services
Collected on arrival at the airport. Assistance is given to open up bank accounts, arrange automatic deductions, change of homestay families and the purchase of stationery. Textbooks are free. A visiting medical service is provided and the local medical centre is a five minute walk from the school. Students have their own international room where they can meet during the day.

English Language Entry Requirements
We require the student's report from their school and a letter in English from a teacher supporting the application. Entry is given to students with a good school record who have a desire to learn. English is an advantage but not a requirement. It is more important that the student be co-operative and fit into the life of the school. At Form 7 the level of English must be of a satisfactory standard.

English Language Teaching
We encourage students to come directly to the school if their English is poor as we have an ESOL department run by trained staff. There is no extra fee for this service. Students can take the TOEFL or IELTS qualifications.

Fees
The year's programme for tuition is NZ$8,750 inclusive of GST. This fee covers all stationery needs and course costs.
