Students are met at the airport and introduced to their new homestay families. A staff member is contracted whose sole responsibility is to provide all the necessary help for our international students while they are with their homestay family.

To encourage integration and to help improve English language skills, international students live in homestay accommodation.

A Ph.D qualified, full-time Director of ESOL teaches ESOL and also looks after our international students. Upon arrival at King's, each student's English language skills are assessed and intensive ESOL programmes are implemented to concentrate upon quickly and efficiently improving his English language skills. Students are able to take as many ESOL classes as they need. Each class has a maximum of only 10 students.

Specialised tuition for such internationally recognised examinations as TOEFL, IELTS and Pitman's is offered free to all our international students. King's also offers students a foundation studies-type programme for preparation for tertiary study.
