Hiromi in Queenstown

A graduate of Nittaidai, Japan's national physical education university, Hiromi Kaneko is a teacher at a school for the intellectually handicapped in Tokyo. It is a very demanding and stressfull job and consequently, holidays are important. Because Hiromi is also a serious student of English, we decided to combine her two requirements for English study and recreation by sending her on a three week Snow Board and English study program to Queenstown where she studied English in the morning and went skiing/snowboarding in the afternoons and weekends and then hitting Queenstown's many pubs and restaurants in the evenings.

Southern Lakes English College (SLEC) is an outdoor recreation oriented English language school run by former physical education intructors who later qualified as teachers of English as a foreign fanguage. Their school is just outside Queenstown at the foot of the ski fields, next to the bridge where bungi jumping was invented and just above one of the main jet boating stations and a horse stable. Accordingly, they are very well placed to offer a wide range of programs offering almost limiteless opportunities for studying Englsih while engaging in outdoor recreation activities all year round.
