Michi's page

Maybe the genkiest 76 year old in Japan, Michi, a retired teacher, decided to go to Auckland in winter and, because she likes flowers, I sent her to Languages International which is just next to Albert Park - right in the center of Auckland City.

Looking at Michi's Auckland experience photograph album in the Fujigaoka coffee lounge.

Michi talking to Charlie and some guests in our coffee lounge. Charlie is from London and Michi taught Japanese at United World CollegeWales for three years, so they had quite a lot to talk about.

Michi's homestay was in Remuera, one of the best suburbs in Auckland as it faces the sun all day and looks out over the Waitemata harbour. This view looks across the trees of the neighbourhood to the island of Rangitoto, a dormant volcanic cone in the middle of the harbour.

Michi's homestay hosts, and who are both retired.

Homestay garden. Most New Zealanders live in houses with their own gardens so the cities look like parks with houses in them.
